Black Scale x Kicks Hawaii 10 year Anniversary Collaboration releases tomorrow Jan 27th at Black Scale San Francisco. Kicks Hawaii was one of our first doors when we started and one of our long time families in the industry. Learning so much from these guys over the years and having the opportunity to collaborate with them on their 10th year anniversary is a blessing for us. A$AP Rocky releases the official “Wassup” video that was directed by Rocky and the good folks at Vice Magazine. This video came out really nice and the fam is draped in nice contemporary clothing mixed with a little bit of Black Scale. It’s great to see the new generation dress like this because we love high fashion and mixing it with a medium that is simple and not so expensive to compliment a nice dark look captures a great sense of feeling when dressing up everyday. Every time I see the A$AP crew in New York or Los Angeles they always have some nice pieces on and it’s nice to see it in person and not just in videos. Keeping it “trill”.

A few nights ago we had a few of the boys (A$AP Rocky, A$AP Yams, A$AP Ty Beats, Chase Infinite, Chase N Cashe, Money Makin Matt, Krondon and Mitchy Slick) come through the Black Scale Los Angeles store because Rocky had an idea to shoot a video of all the boys shooting dice (cee-lo) in our back yard in front of Norm’s (Msk/Awr) burner. Candles lit, Hennessy in cups and the purple burning was all we needed with the lenses of Michael Morales and Mateo documenting the 2 hour shoot and another memorable night in the books. B Logo Feather New Era’s are releasing this Saturday Jan 21st, 2012. The first time we released these caps they sold out in two days and now we are re releasing them to everyone that missed out the first time. These caps are limited to 72 made in each color way and will be available at all Black Scale stores.

Moving to San Francisco in 2003 one of the first things I was introduced to was the party atmosphere and during that time it was a lot of great events taking place in San Francisco, which in one particular event always stood out and that was PST Pacific Standard Time that took place at Bambuddah Lounge. Sake 1 was the resident Dj and also one of the promoters who brought the city together to listen to a wide variety of music depending on which Dj from around the globe was playing that Thursday night.
