The Recess Ends

March 30th, 2010

Two friends of mine Austin and Brian Chu were on the Good Day L.A. show this morning talking about “The Recess Ends” documentary they filmed in 2009 traveling the 50 states. The documentary is about a brother that got laid off and who convinced his younger brother to quit his job so they can fulfill what was once an idea of what is going on around the country during the Recession period. You can check out the documentary at Therecessends.com for the experience of what they went through in the period of six months traveling the 50 states.

Philadelphia Part I

March 24th, 2010

One night and Two days and I can’t believe how much we did in those few days. I left L.A. Tuesday night to catch a 10 pm flight and found myself landing 4 hours later realizing New York city is 3 hours ahead of us watching the sun bursting out. I didn’t catch no sleep because I’m usually awake at those times and seeing my boys Wahid and Mohamed picking me up at JFK airport at 5 am I knew they also didn’t get any rest raging with Damon Dash the night prior. Got in the car and we headed south to Philadelphia passing Brooklyn, Staten Island and New Jersey and I am still fully awake excited for the Ubiq x Freeway x Black Scale event later that day. Check in the room and crashed for a heart beat and got ready to see what Philly was about. Met with my good brother Set Free at the Ubiq store who organized the event and spoke about the future for Black Scale in the East Coast. Soon after the boys all met up and we toured the city with Gilbere Forte’ and Jerome White to catch Love Park, City Hall and all of the amazing Freemason buildings that filled downtown Philadelphia. I have to say Philadelphia is one of my favorite cities in America as you feel the deep history that the city is built on. The architecture alone is amazing and having our Philly friends tour us around couldn’t get any better experiencing the city.

Spring 2010 has been in the stores for a few weeks now and re releasing our Rebel design on crew necks and zip up hoods the Rebel design has been one of our popular pieces to date. With every brand you see a design you identify them to and with us we have our upside down Rebel flag. This is our third time releasing the Rebel design in two years and we change it up a little bit every time. Hit up your local boutique that carries Black Scale or your online retailers before they sell out.
