The Rose Club at The Plaza hotel is offering a shot of a limited-edition cognac that costs more than the average New Yorker’s monthly rent.
Called the Louis XIII Black Pearl Magnum, a single drink of the Remy Martin-produced spirit goes for $2,500 and cannot be sampled anywhere else in the State of New York.
Whether or not a swig of the astronomically priced drink is worth it remains anyone’s guess. The bottle, designed by Baccarat and hand blown from black crystal, has not yet been uncorked since it was introduced in June. It sits majestically in a glass case against the swanky bar’s back wall, drawing constant attention from customers. Got $2,500 lying around and a thirst for a drop? You’re in luck.
