Black Scale brings out our long-time fam DJ Synapse, for our April mix to bring you Mind Games. These are the Mind Games of DJ Synapse, a New York stalwart, and brand developer of 15 years. The songs in this mix were blended live with two Technics, a Rane mixer and Pioneer EFX-500 box. The songs were completely new to Synapse when he mixed them, so it’s an improvisational affair. After blending the songs (22 in 30 minutes), Synapse laid his cut, paste and scratch flavor, to the mix, something he has always been known for. BLVCK x HUF Black Scale 5 Year Anniversary Plant Life Tie Dye Tee releases tomorrow March 14th, 2013 at 11am PST on Black-Scale.com and Hufworldwide.com This project is the second release of our 5 Year Anniversary Collaborations which we did the first one with Stussy and a few more to follow this one. We are very stoked on this project because it’s the first time we ever collaborated with HUF and both owners of Black Scale started in this industry working for HUF so it only made sense for this to eventually happen and why not do it with the signature HUF Plant Life graphic and add a few pentagrams.

“F*CK SWAG.” You may have seen your favorite artists (Danny Brown, Heroes x Villains) rocking this phrase on their snap-backs or tees, but it’s more than just a phrase. It encompasses the ethos of Black Scale, the clothing line behind the slogan. It’s a new generation of street wear for a new generation of consumers. Founded in November of 2007 by Michael “Mega” Yabut and Alfred De Tagle, this San Francisco startup went from selling tees at the HUF store to opening up flagship stores in NY and LA, with pop-up stores sprouting up around the world.
