Since the 2004 inception of his Oakland -based label, Guesthouse Music, Mes has produced a prolific catalogue of bass-heavy tracks that have scorched dance floors amid the ebb and flow of electronic music. The month of May started out with the sad news of the passing of Adam Yauch, better known as MCA of the legendary Beastie Boys. You couldn’t walk passed a bar, lounge or club in the L.E.S. that night without hearing the voice of MCA in the streets. The next day we were blessed by a visit from the Supermoon. Also most notably in the month of May, we took a trip to Atlanta to link with Daniel Disaster (Heroes & Villains) and BLKKMORRIS (C.Will) for our pop-up shop collaboration at Space2. San Francisco is such a beautiful place from the landscape of the city to the different melting pot of cultures that settled there to the amazing food that you can get on every other corner possible. I love San Francisco and everything it has to offer but moving away and seeing how the city has changed it sucks to see the politics within our industry grow to a competitive battle and hate within certain circles.
